In the lead-up to the third phase of elections in West Bengal, the political atmosphere has intensified with a flurry of accusations exchanged between the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

At an election rally held in Krishnanagar, Trinamool General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee levied serious allegations, stating, "Governor molested a girl of daughter's age. BJP wants to snatch away the wealth of women of Bengal." He further accused the BJP of dishonoring Bengal's reputation by allegedly auctioning the dignity of women for a paltry sum of Rs 2000 in the Sandeshkhali incident. Banerjee's remarks underscore the heightened tensions and emotive rhetoric characterizing the electoral contest in the state.

Banerjee's statement, "Bengal was defamed in the name of Sandeshkhali. Sandeshkhali's truth has come out in front of everyone. The value of women's honor and dignity was set at Rs 2,000," sheds light on the narratives being employed by political parties to sway public opinion.

"It's not me, it's the Mandal President of BJP who is speaking. BJP can stop housing fund for 100 more days but not Lakhi Bhandar" he added.

The allegations and counter-allegations between the TMC and BJP have further polarized the electorate, setting the stage for a fiercely contested election in West Bengal.
